Wishlist Wednesday: Reading more than a board book

If you know anything about me, you know one of my first loves was reading. And if you know anything about toddlers, you know they give you very little time to read anything that has multisyllabic words and no pictures.

Someday, though, I’ll read again. Here are some of the books that are currently waiting for me on my shelf or on my Amazon wishlist.

The Vanishing American Adult: Our Coming-of-Age Crisis-and How to Rebuild a Culture of Self-Reliance I actually bought this book and it arrived a few days ago. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get some of it read every night. Apparently, if you have young children, it’s an educational read for parenting children who become responsible citizens.

H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald The hubs bought me this book after we saw the documentary which, inexplicably, left me in tears. I’m still waiting to read the book. In the meantime, I got my mother addicted and she recommends it!

The F Word As someone who could use a few good friends in her life right now, this book is high on my wishlist. I first saw this book on an Instagram feed of someone I follow. I’m hoping that there is an Amazon giftcard in my future so I can buy this (and maybe a sarcastic mom t-shirt while I’m at it).

The Immortalists The praise for this novel is amazing and the fact that the author is only 28 makes me extremely jealous, as well as wondering what the hell I did wrong when I completed my writing degree, that I couldn’t muster the same brilliance she apparently has.
